College Football's Top Teams and Heisman Hopefuls: Week #2

LSU's thumping over Virginia Tech has the Tigers taking the top spot from the idle Trojans of USC.

In other developments, Oklahoma's thrashing of Miami catapults the Sooners six spots up to #3. Georgia falls from the Top Ten after being upset at home by South Carolina. The Bulldogs are replaced at #10 by the dominant defense of Penn State.

Week 3 brings a marquee matchup of two historic programs. #2 Southern California heads to Nebraska to play the Cornhuskers, a game which will have huge implications on the Top Ten. Another interesting contest pits SEC rivals #6 Florida and Tennessee. Finally, Kentucky hosts in-state opponent #5 Louisville. This showdown may showcase the two best QB's in the country.

McFadden and Booty had a bye week, which gave an opportunity for other players to demonstrate their talents. Still, it's hard to punish great players who didn't get chances to play. Brennan and Louisville QB Brian Brohm continued their respective aerial assaults, the latter earning a spot on Heisman Hopefuls. White continued to rack up numbers as a dual-threat QB, overshadowing his running mate Steve Slaton.
