College Football's Top Teams and Heisman Hopefuls: Week #3

Southern Cal pounds Nebraska on the road while LSU and Oklahoma remain dominant at their respective homes. Louisville loses an in-state shootout with Kentucky, sending the Cardinal out of the Top Ten.

In other developments, Ohio State pulled away in the second half to win comfortably at Seattle. The Buckeyes victory over Washington thrusts OSU into the rankings. Defending champs Florida destroy Tennessee at The Swamp and Texas eeks out another win.

Week 4 is a bit of a downer. The best game on paper is South Carolina at LSU. Other noteworthy contests include Arizona at Cal, Kentucky at Arkansas and Penn State at Michigan.

Dropped out: #5 Louisville

Despite Darren McFadden's gutsy 200 rushing yard, 2 TD performance his Arkansas squad lost a heartbreaker at Alabama. Still, the most dynamic player in the country remains on top, although the margin of error for the Razorbacks is zero. Andre' Woodson proclaimed himself the best collegiate QB in Kentucky -- and perhaps the nation -- by leading the Wildcats to a historic win. Steve Slaton scored three TD on Thursday at Maryland, but two of them were short yard scampers -- courtesy of a couple of explosive runs by true freshman RB Noel Devine.
